This Saturday marks a significant milestone for Magadh University as it rolls out the red carpet for its first-ever alumni gathering. With the presence of esteemed Governor Syed Ata Hasnain to kick off the festivities, the day promises an exciting lineup of cultural acts, heartfelt stories from alumni, and a ceremony honoring outstanding contributors.
Gaya: Magadh University is set to host its first-ever alumni meet at its Bodh Gaya headquarters on Saturday. Governor-cum-chancellor of universities, Syed Ata Hasnain, will inaugurate the event.Vice-chancellor Shashi Pratap Shahi said, “The event will be a platform to shape the future of the university. The focus will be on tapping alumni expertise to strengthen research, innovation and infrastructure with an aim to restore the institution’s past stature.”Registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam said, “Dedicated core teams of the varsity have been engaged to ensure preparations for programmes, including cultural performances, experience-sharing sessions by former students and an awards ceremony.”Mangalam said, “Several prominent figures, including Union micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar assembly speaker Prem Kumar, former minister Ashok Chaudhary and MLC Naval Kishore Yadav, are likely to be present at the event. Alumni from across the country and abroad too are expected to attend the event, being organised for the first time at Magadh University.”As part of the build-up, the political science department organised a lecture on ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ on Friday, where Sudhir Kumar Singh and Munger University founder vice-chancellor Ranjit Kumar Verma spoke on development, education and India’s global role.
